Aunt Val's Kitchen Meet my Family... Val's Culinary Background:Growing up in Europe as a little kid in the late 1960's really informed my culinary interest and abilities. Food in Europe was extraordinary at the time while the culinary revolution in the US had not yet begun. We ate like royalty! While in London, my mother took courses at 'Cordon Bleu' and I remember the heavenly smells of beef stroganoff and coq au vin as I helped her chop and sauté. I think that's what did it.
